IT’S TIME TO BRING BARAKAH INTO YOUR LIFE AS A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL

Hi there and thank you for visiting.

My name is Ifedolapo Sulyman Olanrewaju.

You can call me, Sulyman!

Some of my friends and family call me Dolapo (read as doh-lah-po) and most of my patients prefer to call me, Olan!

I am a physician on a journey to live my best self as a true abd’ of Allah SWT by His Supreme Will.

Our Islamic tradition epitomized through the example of Prophet Muhammad SAW provides a roadmap for us all to learn and grow towards our best versions (yes, even as healthcare professionals!) which oftentimes eludes us for many reasons.

The challenging culture of work in the healthcare space can often be a source of this constraint; but our own choices and how we manage ourselves within the culture also has significant ramifications on how things shape up for us at home and at work.

The Fitra lifestyle, as taught to us by Prophet Muhammad SAW and the Barakah culture from our own Islamic tradition can empower us and set us up for resiliency against the odds!

Alhamdulillah, over the last few years, I have been privileged to serve remarkable people across the spectrum of healthcare from frontline clinicians to healthcare leadership teams and most of all, patients, and their families.

During this time, I have also been challenged to face my own struggles reconciling my Islamic faith-based traditions and identity with my place of service in healthcare. The more I learnt about my faith, the stronger it grounded me in the service of the healthcare community particularly at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic during which time I was opportuned to serve in a leadership capacity.

Watch my interview with Mohammed Faris, Founder of the Productive Muslim Company here to learn more about me.

This grounding, specifically, through the Productive Muslim Company’s Productivity Masterclass Framework has helped me to make better choices with my energy, focus and time across all spheres of my life from the home front to the frontlines of clinical care in a more balanced and integrated way.

The struggle to stay resilient in the face of recurring challenges and the chaos of working in healthcare is real.

Working towards our best versions and optimizing ourselves across the dimensions of our energy, focus and time to maximize our capacity and impact at work and outside of work is central to living a meaningful life.

  • Does your soul battle to attain tranquility through alignment with faith-based foundations?

  • Do you aspire to an empowered and resilient you?

HOW WOULD IT FEEL TO……..

I am a Family Physician. I attended this seminar in order to learn how to make the most of my time as I approach my 5th decade of life, Alhamdulillah. My biggest challenge in the last year has been how to juggle the demands of family and my own spiritual development. This seminar was very productive and insightful for me. The ideas presented were practical, realistic and doable. The "Use time as an asset" idea really stuck with me. I also found the concept "Each moment in time has a best version of itself" to be profound. I have also already implemented the tips needed to increase the barakah in my daily activities and I hope to see positive results moving forward, in sha Allah. I would recommend this class to everyone looking to change their perspective about time.

This course is life-changing for me on a personal level. I struggled with time management for a really long time. This course gave me the practical tools and traits to improve a few things. The best thing I learned was, ‘We can’t manage time. We have to manage ourselves with time.’ The next best thing was the 4 D’s (Do, Defer, Delegate, and Delete). Based on my job, personal, and family obligations, I just couldn’t manage my tasks. Now, I try my best to follow the 4 D’s and am able to accomplish most of my tasks (still learning to effectively use this concept). And lastly, it has always been my dream to wake up at 4 am, work out, and start my day with all my responsibilities. I have been dreaming about this for over 10-12 years, and I was never able to accomplish it. After taking the class and seeing a practical example of a schedule that Dr. Suleyman showed during the class, I was mind-blown. Something really hit me and SubhanAllah after Allah SWT allowed me to take this lesson from Dr Sulyman and enabled me to wake up around 4am I have been waking up around this time everyday and doing my workouts since the day I took the Time Management class. I can feel the blessing of my time with everything I am able to do which I have never felt before…

I'll be honest, I did not think I would benefit much from the class. I am not the type of person to listen to a motivational speech/coach and be inspired and change my actions. However, this class was different. I feel I benefited immensely from the material. At the very least, it helped me identify my weaknesses as a Muslim first and my productivity level second. Regarding my weaknesses as a Muslim, the intention hierarchy was a huge eye-opener for me. Renewing my intentions to insure everything I do is for Allah first and foremost is one step I am taking to improve myself as a Muslim. I also noticed that distractions in my life are preventing me from being as productive as possible. Undertaking the strategies introduced in class to limit distractions is no easy task, but inshAllah I am up for the challenge ...
